Practice Your Conference Presentation Skills

Presented in partnership with the York University Retirees Association (YURA)
Presenting at conferences can be both exciting and anxiety provoking, especially for graduate students still new to doing it. What better way to work through the jitters, and gain valuable feedback and insight, than to practice your skills in front of an expert panel who have years of experience giving conference presentations. Five students will have the chance to practice giving an 8-10 minute sample presentation, and receive detailed feedback on their conference presentation skills. Join us as a presenter, or as an audience member, to learn how to give conference presentations that are targeted, engaging, and generate vibrant and productive discussion.
Note: In registering as a presenter, you are committing to having 8-10 minutes of a conference presentation prepared to present.
Speakers:
David V.J. Bell (Political Science, former Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Environmental Studies)
Irmgard Steinisch (History, former Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts)
John Lennox (English, former Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies)
